The Helper Students for the Poor Children of Cambodia Organization begins with the astonishing story of Samuth Nouen in Cambodia. He escaped from death at the hands of the Khmer Rouge so many times that he was given the nickname, Luckyman. Read a detailed history of his journey.
Introduced to Christianity by a cook in a refugee camp, Luckyman found help in God. He returned to his homeland, building orphanages and schools, to bring dignity and hope back to his people.

Because of Luckyman's experiences at the hands of the Khmer Rouge, and again when the Vietnamese invaded Cambodia, he is passionate about teaching his students about human rights.
His perfect model is to teach them to know Jesus.
“I teach the students about Human Rights so they will understand the difference between right and wrong.
My aim is when they leave school they will get a good profession and understand how important it is to be honest and caring about their country and the Cambodian people, so that the atrocities of our recent past do not repeat themselves.”

Nancy Plaxico and John Wentz speak about their first hand experiences meeting Luckyman. Their meetings touched each of them and inspired them to become more involved in bringing Luckyman's story to others. Watch Part One and Part Two of their talks at Trinity Church in January, 2011. "I want us to be so filled with God's Holy Spirit, led by the Holy Spirit, empowered by the Holy Spirit, that people will say, 'If you want to know what Jesus is like, find somebody from Trinity.'" - Pastor David Wentz
