"Music is your own experience, your own thoughts, your wisdom. If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn. They teach you there's a boundary line to music. But, man, there's no boundary line to art."

Opportunities to Worship in Music

"Let them praise his name with dancing and make

 music to him with

 tambourine and harp."

Psalm 149:3

Music is an integral part of our connection with God.  It provides a connection

  • deeper than words,
  • penetrating our souls,
  • and touching us with the Fire of God's love.

You will find many different opportunities to worship God through music at Trinity Church.

As you explore them, enjoy the quotes from those who play great music, or those who simply know that within music we can experience a deeper connection to God.

All groups are open to new members and would love to have you join them.  Please contact the church office, 410-268-1620, for more information. Or talk to Pastor David, or our Music Director Jane Daugherty, on Sunday morning.

The Locust Street Praise Band honors God with anthems and special music twice a month at the 9:00 AM service.  They also present fun musical programs and an Easter Praisata.

"The marvels of God are not brought forth from one's self. Rather, it is more like a chord, a sound that is played. The tone does not come out of the chord itself, but rather, through the touch of the Musician. I am, of course, the lyre and harp of God's kindness."

- Hildegard of Bingen

"Bach gave us God's Word.

Mozart gave us God's laughter.

Beethoven gave us God's fire.

God gave us Music

that we might pray without words."

- quote from outside an old opera house

"I've come up with the theory that the music is within. We don't bring it in;

it's already there.

We have to figure out how to get it out."

- Howard Roberts

Trinity's Celtic Band has written and produced Celtic services for the community.  These are presented outdoors in the back yard of the parsonage, and incorporate the beauty of God's creation. Our last Celtic Service employed an old fashioned butter churn which provided delicious homemade butter to go with the homemade bread!
