Prayer Changes Lives

At Trinity Church, we say that It's All About H.I.M.

  • Hosting God's Presence,
  • Imitating Jesus, and
  • Making Him Known.

The foundation for all of this is Prayer - a two way communication with God.  Prayer is a fundamental part of every gathering, whether it is a Council meeting, Hobby group, Dinner, or Worship.

Every Tuesday at 9:30 AM, a group gathers in the Chapel to pray.  This time is intended to be specifically for Trinity Church and how we can better fulfill God's will here in Annapolis.  God shows us the many needs of our community, and we desire to be His answer.

Prayer, Praise and Healing Services are held at announced times.

The first Sunday of each month, during Communion individual healing prayer is offered for any kind of healing - physical, emotional, or spiritual.

Flowing in The Spirit meets in the parsonage for prayer in experiencing the power of the Holy Spirit. Contact Pastor David if you are interested.

We have several different other prayer groups that meet throughout the month in private homes.  Please contact Pastor David for more information.

Prayer Moves Mountains!

"'Have faith in God,' Jesus answered. 'I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, "Go, throw yourself into the sea," and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.'"  - (Mark 11:22-25)

What is Prayer?

  • talking to God
  • praising God
  • crying out to God
  • asking God for help
  • sitting in God's presence
  • sensing God's love in creation
  • all of these, and so much more...

"Whether we think of, or speak to, God, whether we act or suffer for him, all is prayer, when we have no other object than his love, and the desire of pleasing him."

How Can We Best Pray For

Deployed Soldiers?

A visiting Army Captain was home on R and R and agreed to speak to our congregation.  His outline covers all the key points for praying for troops in Afghanistan, Iraq and around the world.

Putting on the Armor of God

In his Sermon Series from August 2011, Pastor Wentz explains how to live in the power of the Holy Spirit.  The series is called "The Greater One," and you can find it here.

On August 22, 2011, Pastor Wentz preached about Ephesians 6:10-19, and how we can know our equipment.

The Guide is a sample prayer, based

upon how Pastor Wentz puts on

Every Tuesday Morning, 8:00 AM in the Chapel, a group gathers in Prayer for our Troops.

We pray specifically for relatives and friends who are deployed or stationed here in the USA.  We also pray for wisdom for leaders and governments.  We begin this time with Psalm 91, and end by praying St. Patrick's Breastplate over our troops.  This is a wonderful way to remind yourself of God's protection:

You arise today through God's strength to pilot you;

God's might to uphold you,

God's wisdom to guide you,

God's eye to look before you,

God's ear to hear for you,

God's word to speak for you,

God's hand to guard you,

God's way to lie before you,

God's shield to protect you,

God's host to save you from snares of devils,

From temptations of vices,

From everyone who shall wish you ill,

Afar and anear, alone and in a multitude.

We summon today all these powers between you and those evils,

Against every cruel merciless power that may oppose your body and soul,

Against incantations of false prophets,

Against black laws of pagandom,

Against false laws of heretics,

Against craft of idolatry, against spells of witches and smiths and wizards,

Against every knowledge that corrupts one's body and soul.

Christ to shield you today

Against poison, against burning,

Against drowning, against wounding,

So that there may come to you abundance of reward.

Christ with you, Christ before you, Christ behind you,

Christ in you, Christ beneath you, Christ above you,

Christ on your right, Christ on your left,

Christ when you lie down, Christ when you sit down,

Christ when you arise,

Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of you,

Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of you,

Christ in every eye that sees you,

Christ in every ear that hears you.

You arise today

Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,

Through belief in the Threeness, through confession of the Oneness,

Of the Creator of Creation.

St. Patrick (ca. 377)
