Let Your Spirit SOAR: The Paul Pattern

Scripture lesson:  Acts 13:1-12

Key verse: Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. 

  • The Paul Pattern from Acts 13
    • Verses 1-2 He sought the Lord
    • Verse 3 He offered himself to God
    • Verses 4-11 He acted in faith
    • Verse 12 His spirit soared
    • He followed this pattern again and again
  • Use the Paul Pattern to let your spirit SOAR
    • S – Seek God
    • O – Offer yourself
    • A – Act in faith
    • R - Repeat

Let Your Spirit SOAR, Part 2

Seek God

Scripture lesson:  Isaiah 55:6-13

Key verse: 1 Chronicles 16:11 Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his presence continually. 


·       It’s all in your mind (Romans 12:2)

·       Seek God before your thinking gets stiff (verse 6)

·       Arrest every thought that hides God (verse 7, and 2 Corinthians 10:5)

·       Let God expand your mind (verses 8-9)

·       Seek God’s strength and presence (1 Chronicles 16:11)

·       Watch God’s word work (verses 10-11)

·       Enjoy God’s blessings (verses 12-13) 


Let Your Spirit SOAR, Part 3

You Can Fulfill the Desire of God’s Heart

Scripture lesson:  Isaiah 6:1-9

Key verse: Isaiah 6:8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I; send me!” 

 

You can fulfill the desire of God’s heart! 

  • 1.     Seek God until you are aware of God’s presence
  • 2.     See yourself from God’s perspective
  • 3.     Receive God’s grace
  • 4.     Listen for God’s heart cry
  • 5.     Offer yourself for God’s use
  • 6.     Listen for God’s instructions
  • 7.     Act in faith

Let Your Spirit SOAR, Part 4

Act in Faith and Repeat

Scripture lesson:  1 Kings 17:1-24

Key verse: 1 Kings 17:5 Elijah did as the LORD had told him.

·       Acting in faith often means speaking in faith

·       Acting once is not enough

·       If you don’t SOAR you’ll crash

·       If you’ve been there for God, God will be there for you

·       You’re not alone

·       You can SOAR all the way to heaven
